Davos Platz, Dorf or Klosters: Where Should You Stay?

All three explained side by side — walking distance, price, and the trade-offs of each during Annual Meeting week.

Davos Platz

The southern half of town, and where most of Annual Meeting week actually happens — it holds the Congress Centre and most of the Promenade. Walking time to the centre runs anywhere from two minutes if you're right on the Promenade to fifteen if you're further up the hill.
This is the zone people fight over, and it fills first. It suits anyone with back-to-back days, anyone hosting something themselves, or anyone who'll be out late most nights. The trade-off is cost — nowhere in town charges more per square metre that week — plus a constant stream of foot traffic right outside your door.
Don't trust the map on the uphill stretches once it's iced over — build in extra time on a ten-minute walk rather than cutting it close.

Davos Dorf

The northern half of town, about twenty-five minutes on foot from Platz, or a short train ride. Quieter, often cheaper, and a completely normal choice — plenty of people who've done this for years choose Dorf on purpose.
The catch is the commute — you're doing it several times daily, not once. The ride itself is short, but you're still standing on an open platform waiting for it and walking at both ends. In fresh snow, add time you didn't plan for.
It suits teams who want more space for the money, and anyone booking later in the cycle when Platz is already gone.

Klosters

Roughly a twenty-five-minute train ride out of Davos, with a walk bookending it at both ends. Calmer than either half of Davos itself, and the rates usually reflect that.
The catch is you're living by the timetable. Stay late for a dinner and you're either waiting it out on a cold platform for the next departure, or stuck with a car that can't move once the roads close for the night.
Good fit if you'd rather plan your evening around a train schedule than around the Congress Centre.
